Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Network Engineer who will be focused on managing and maintaining F5 network devices, within the TADS network. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network management, with a particular focus on F5 platforms, including the creation and management of iRules, SSL certificates, and security hardening. Key responsibilities include the full lifecycle management of F5 devices, from installation and configuration to troubleshooting and security compliance. 

Key Responsibilities: 

·       Lifecycle Support: Oversee the full lifecycle of TADS network devices, focusing on F5 virtual devices. 

·       System Design & Documentation: Develop system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all necessary documentation. 

·       F5 Administration 

o   Perform routine administrative and maintenance functions, including installation, configuration, patching, and updating of F5 platforms. 

o   Creation of Monitors, Address Translations and Traffic Class

o   Creation of Device Groups and Device Trust with Trust, CA Certificates, Identity Certificates and Traffic Groups

o   Configure Network parameters including, Interfaces, Routes, Self IP’s, Packet Filters, Trunks, Tunnels VLANS, etc.

o   Configure system parameters including Configuration, Device Certificates/File/Disk/Software Management, License Updates, Users, etc.

o   Management and creation of SSL Certificates, both self-signed and third party signed, within the application environment.

o   Perform security hardening and work with IA/C&A teams to conduct security scans/audits. Troubleshoot F5 platforms in preproduction and production environments.

o   Monitor performance of remote and local systems to identify problems, and if needed, perform analysis to identify root cause of any performance issues and take appropriate corrective action to resolve issues.

o   Develop scripts to automate manual tasks

o   Work with application owners and infrastructure team members (network, storage, IA, etc. to optimize system performance

o   Participate in the development and maintenance of system lifecycle documentation.

·       iRules & Virtual Servers: Support the creation and management of iRules on F5 load balanacers, virtual servers, pools, nodes, and other related components. 

·       Security & Compliance: Perform security hardening, manage SSL certificates, and work with security teams to ensure compliance. 

·       Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize strong log analysis and troubleshooting skills to maintain network performance and resolve issues for normal and non-normal business hours as scheduled. 

Qualifications

Bachelors and 5 years of experience or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree

·       Network Experience: 5+ years of experience in data center or enterprise environments. 

·       F5 Platforms: 2+ years of hands-on experience with F5 platforms, including iRules and various F5 modules (APM, AFM, SSLO). 

·       SSL Certificates: Experience in managing and troubleshooting SSL certificates.

Must be US Citizen

Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance
