SAIC is seeking an experienced (USAF) Program Manager to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program. (This is a fully remote position with no onsite requirements).
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) standards that support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partners facilitating all-domain Warfighter training across the full spectrum of conflict.
- The position is responsible for successful delivery and integration of multiple programs to multiple customers. The individual will manage performance of multiple tasks and teams.
- The position will manage and integrate activities in accordance with contract requirements and ensure technical, schedule, cost, and financial performance.
- Additionally, they will define and contribute to the program baseline and then execute the program to comply with baseline requirements.
- The position will manage risk, customer relationships, and program staffing; ensure compliance with quality standards; and escalate challenges to SAIC leadership.

PROGRAM EXECUTION:
- Performs tactical and strategic planning, and coordination to integrate multiple supporting projects into a comprehensive program.
- Project managers or task leads manage key sub-projects that must be integrated. Identifies and analyzes serious variances, and directs corrective actions.
- Responsible for overall execution and delivery as the sole PM on a Category 1 or 2 program with domestic or international funding.
- May serve as Program Oversight for other programs.
- Manages and integrates a large size program staff that includes subcontractors or suppliers and task or project leads; large inventories, and complex workflows.
- Provides guidance, direction, and mentoring to the internal cross-functional team.
- Develops complex processes, procedures, techniques, or tools for program or account.
- Requires extensive systems engineering, systems integration, or complex technical approach; prototyping, trade studies, modeling and simulation, risk mitigation, or complex schedule.
INDEPENDENCE:
- Reviewed by senior management and assessed for long-term CG and/or MS stability and growth.
- Interacts with senior management for all program and account matters.
- Negotiates and resolves complex conflicts, disputes, and deal making.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT OF PROGRAM STAFF:
- Possesses senior leadership and management skills and provides coaching and mentoring to other PMs.
- Provides strategic vision to the team.
- Escalates and resolves complex program issues.
- Provides significant input to MS on performance reviews, compensation-related actions, and staffing and hiring decisions.
- Primary interface with MS for screening and interviewing potential hires.
- Resolves complex personnel issues in coordination with MS, HR, and Program Oversight.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT:
- Develops or significantly contributes to a strategic BD plan to expand current account offerings.
- Plays lead role in developing or executing re-compete capture plan. Identifies potential buying agents and selling opportunities beyond current account and future related accounts.
- Identifies opportunity and account buying influences.
- Recommends specific investment areas and identifies required resources and tools needed for repeatable and differentiated offerings and capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's and eighteen (18) years; Master's and sixteen (16) years or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Air Force Training Experience.
- Supervisory/Managerial experience.
- IT based experience.
- US Citizen and active Secret Clearance.
Desired Experience: Modeling and Simulation experience
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
