Description

 SAIC is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer (Agile Core Services) to support our TACNET Technical and Production Support program onsite in Norfolk, VA. This role requires up to 25% travel.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide system life cycle systems engineering support for our NAVWAR and NIWC customers. 
  • Focused primarily on ACS but will include software and hardware efforts required to sustain currently fielded CANES systems.
  • Serve as Tier 3 technical advisors for ACS development, sustainment, and escalation support.
  • Support will encompass a range of capabilities, from system installations, configuration management enforcement, system sustainment and upgrades, distance support, and emergent CASREP support as needed for the warfighters.
  • This includes analysis and modifications to replace commercial off the shelf (COTS) components that are end of life (EOL), modifications to support new interfaces to other systems, and modifications to existing systems driven by customer requirements.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance, either remotely or on site. 
  • Analyze failure data, trouble reports, and other U.S. Navy Fleet communications to identify current system deficiencies. 
  • Propose solutions, conduct peer reviews, and work with production engineers to implement solutions. 
  • Create and update engineering documentation and manage solutions through a formal configuration management process.
  • Attend and participate in technical meetings, report on technical progress, prepare briefs, and provide presentations. 
  • Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT), Technical Working Group (TWG) and engineering/design review/meetings.
  • Performs technical planning, high level and detailed requirements definition, test planning and execution (to include use cases, test procedures and test data), software systems integration, and technical support for software systems and subsystems.              

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience; years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret clearance needed to start. 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to get a TS/SCI.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.

 

DESIRED CERTIFICATIONS (Must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire):

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
  • CompTIA Linux+

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS:

  • EnterpriseDB PostgreSQL Advanced Server.
  • ForgeRock Access Management (AM).
  • JFrog Artifactory Pro.
  • Must be able to obtain TS/SCI after start.
