Description

SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Technical Writer in Colorado Springs to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions.

In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Technical Writer is responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development and delivery of PARCS and UEWR radar hardware and software modifications in response to change requests and deficiency reports. 

Job Duties:

  • Writes and/or edits complex engineering specifications, user manuals, reports, briefings and presentations, guidelines, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements.
  • Develops, revises, and produces technical orders’ change pages. Reviews content of technical documentation for quality.
  • Ensures proper application of applicable government standards and guidelines for technical writing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 6+ years’ experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Gather and interpret complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of interpersonal skills mandatory.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player with demonstrated ability to manage projects, tasks, and special assignments independently.
  • Manage documentation tasks for multiple products simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with agile teams and methodologies.
  • Experience sustaining PARCS, or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR.
  • Experience working with CAD programs, hardware drawings, and BOMs.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
