Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. This position has the ability to be worked fully remote in the candidate's home office.

Job Duties:

  • Provide services for systems engineering and integration, operational engineering, software design and development, and database support in support of EIMS, PMAP, WDZ, and other Fleet IT systems and applications.  This could include concept of operations formulation; requirements definition, analysis and engineering; system architecting; system analysis and design; interface and data architectures, validation, and verification; system and operations performance analysis, cybersecurity and accreditation/certification requirements. 
  • Interface with USFF and PACFLT environmental, natural resources,  range planners and managers, and IT and data management professionals to discern Fleet data requirements; identify potential authoritative sources of this data or interested recipients of EIMS data, such as DCAST, Navy Acoustic Exposure Model (NAEMO), Mission Compatibility Assessment Tool (MCAT), GRX, and similar; and coordinate with target system owners to assess the feasibility and generate plans to develop necessary data exchange mechanisms.
  • Other duties as designated in support of environmental training operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS degree and 4+ years of experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Secret security clearance required.
  • Knowledge of Kanban boards, source control; GIT, Subversion, Tortious, and Visual Studio.
  • Knowledge of application programming, database design, GIS, Internet, intranet, extranet, and client/server architectures. 
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, system design, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in developing geospatial web and desktop applications in .NET Framework 2.0 / 3.5 / 4.0 / 4.5 via ASPX, ASP.NET, MVC, C#, SQL, Visual Basic; and Java Script while leveraging ESRI and Oracle spatial products.
  • Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II designation.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of System Administration within operating systems.
  • Experience with geospatial and/or database development and/or cloud transition.
  • Experience working with existing military operational, scheduling, environmental, or range management information systems.
