SAIC is seeking a Technical Director (TD) to support our Intelligence Space Business Area. In this role, you will work to drive solutions across the organization for mission level architectures and technical baselines for differentiating and/or disruptive capabilities where SAIC can deliver solutions and integrated products and services to USAF and Intelligence Community Customers. This position requires an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph. Work can be performed from Colorado, or Northern Virginia (preferred).

The TD is to act as the engineering/technical arm for Enterprise (SAIC internal) and Customer engagements to drive SAIC solution creation and effective delivery.  This TD will work closely with the business development, Innovation Factories, and P&L teams to create and gain market opportunities, tailor technical solutions, and integrate vendor agnostic capabilities to meet customer, operator, and user system integration needs. The TD will support shaping and initial capture capabilities and acts as the initial solution architect prior to the stand up of the capture team. The TD will also coordinate with the Innovation Factories, and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to define and drive enterprise investment to increase pWin for identified pursuits as well as advise technology investment for future opportunities.  The TD is expected to have an understanding of SAIC horizontal and vertical capabilities that create unique market and customer value. The TD is a primary POC to the SAIC Chief Technology Organization to communicate technology and demonstration investment.

Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze existing and emerging architecture solutions and engage with key stakeholders to support the development of System of Systems (SoS), mission integration, architecture products, processes, and policy.
  • Conduct gap analyses and provide recommendations to SAIC leadership focusing on new solutions and prioritized solution features.
  • Apply System Engineering / System Architecture (SE/SA) principles within the environment in which a system or SoS will be developed and employed.
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert in the creation of engineering products, processes and solutions for existing, emerging and future customers.
  • Develop demonstrations, white papers, proposals and engineering responses to drive technical solutions in commercial and contracting offerings.
  • Collaborate across the SAIC enterprise to determine, scale, and apply best practices and lessons learned to LRKC pursuits and tasks.
  • Develop technical investment plans in conjunction with the Chief Technology Office for discriminating capabilities as they apply to data management, cloud technologies, AI/ML, Digital Engineering, and future space system capabilities.
  • Interact with customer for initial shaping, 30% solution development, and capture support.
  • Support capture and proposal reviews.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a specialized field and 10+ years of experience in Systems Architecture or Systems Engineering projects or a Master's degree in a specialized field and 5+ years of experience in Systems Architecture or Systems Engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with Modular Open System Approach (MOSA) design principles.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Familiarity with Agile Development and DevSecOps (DSO).
  • Familiarity with space / ground integration and interface control documents.
  • Experience in supporting DoD and Intelligence Community.
  • Broad understanding of space, tactical, and ground solutions for Department of the Air Force and Intelligence Community customers.
  • Understanding of network topology and cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Ability to work full time from the Northern Virginia area desired.

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
