Description

SAIC is looking for an experienced engineer for the USG program office. Position requires that the manager develops, updates, and maintains the program office risk database in conjunction with the program office budget officer’s GEAC database.  Supports Program Office’s risk and opportunity identification and management processes.  Documents opportunities and risks to Program Office’s acquisitions and operations, assists in development and tracking of mitigation and corrective actions plans, and identifies methods to implement opportunities.

 

Job Duties include: 

  • Draft narratives for risk mitigation / acquisition strategies 
  • Establish a risk/opportunities management process to be an integral component of organization’s formal decision making process – tailor process to the organization in order to facilitate clear understanding risk posture and making technical, resource, and programmatic decisions
  • Implement the Risk/Opportunity cycle of monitoring, planning, identification, analysis, and handing to empower leadership to make decisions proactively vs. reactively
  • Enable Program Office to proactively manage risk, issues, initiatives, and opportunities in with timeliness and diligence
  • Analyze risk items to guide the prioritization of items within budget sources and establish risk handling strategies and schedules
  • Maintain an accurate Risk/Opportunities register and ensure all entries are reviewed/updated on a routine basis
  • Capture Risk/Opportunities Board Meeting Minutes to ensure decision and actions are recorded

Qualifications

Position Qualifications

  • Requires a TS/SCI with Poly
  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline desired
  • Basic understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
  • Experience in DOD/IC acquisition and program management processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated sustained superior performance
  • Available to travel domestically and internationally
