SAIC is looking for a Cloud / IT Engineer. The member will be an integral participant in satellite ground system command and control software development life-cycle. Key areas of focus include developing cloud adoption plans, determining cloud application designs, and the creation of solutions to manage, monitor, and maintain multiple cloud systems. Your job will be to ensure the customer needs are met by our development contractors. Requires an understanding of multi-cloud architectures in order to provide analysis and recommendations for ground command and control operations and maintenance and ground system network long-term supportability.
Job Duties include:
- Support the design and plan of a multi-cloud solution architecture on multiple fabrics
- Advise on cloud migration approaches such as re-hosting, re-platforming, or re-factoring
- Manage and oversee the provisioning of the cloud solution infrastructure
- Collaborate on the design for security and compliance
- Manage implementations of cloud architecture
- Ensure solution and operations reliability
- Translate strategic architectures into implementation level guidance
- Guide complex projects/issues that require in-depth cloud solution integration
- Work with delivery team to address architecture, integration, and technical issues, and in some instances lead the technical implementation of the solution architecture
- Work with development teams and advise on practical cloud implementations and develop findings and work off plans
- Support IT-related tasks in areas such as developing requirements, placing/monitoring service requests, monitoring cloud costs, conducting on-premise vs cloud trades
- Develop productive relationships with development contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other spacecraft, payload, and ground subject matter experts
- Advise and mentor customer personnel regarding cloud architectures
- Represent the government at developer lead release and sprint planning events; ensuring that the government and stakeholder needs are prioritized
- Engage with Agile Development teams to assess implementation and execution
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI with poly
- BS in computer science/engineering, or related technical field
- 9+ years of software domain experience with a BS degree or 7+ years of software domain experience with an MS degree
- Strong knowledge of enterprise computing and operating systems (OS) and cloud computing platforms, such as Linux, Windows, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of cloud security principles to protect cloud data from unauthorized users and malicious hackers
- Familiarity with programming languages like Java, Node.js, PHP, Python, and Ruby on Rails
- Project management skills to orchestrate cloud migrations and new system integrations seamlessly
- High-level collaboration skills to assist with several different areas of cloud architecture management
- Cloud-based solutions experience leveraging large cloud-computing infrastructure and platforms architecting, engineering, developing, and deploying systems and applications into a cloud environment
- Experience with Agile development programs
- Self-starter with ability to execute job based on limited guidance/information
- Ability to distill complex problems into digestible structures/formats
- Flexibility and Time Management - Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities and needs
- Effective Communicator - convey information to multiple audiences across all levels of Customer and Corporate management
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- 14+ years of software domain experience with a BS degree or 12+ years of software domain experience with an MS degree
- Working knowledge of Machine Learning tools and techniques
- Cloud Provider certification(s) such as AWS/Azure Solution Architect
- Agile certification
- Working knowledge of planning, scheduling and mission management systems
- Working knowledge of the operations of SIGINT and associated scheduling, tasking and/or mission management functions
- Working knowledge of SIGINT mission user needs and operational environments
- Experience working within or closely with Acquisition Offices; SETA and/or SE&I experience
- Prior ground system experience in on a satellite program (DoD/IC/Commercial)
- Specific IC Customer experience
