SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic IT Systems Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer; the IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for design and implementation of IT systems that require the integration of diverse and complex components.

The IT Systems Engineer work closely with stakeholders, project managers, software developers, network engineers, and other IT professionals to ensure that IT systems are designed, implemented, and operated effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities will include:

• • Requirements gathering and analysis.

  • System design and architecture.

  • Technology selection and evaluation.

  • System development and integration.

  • Testing and quality assurance.

  • Deployment and implementation.

  • System monitoring and maintenance.

  • Performance optimization and scalability.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree with 9+ years of related experience

• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

• Requirements development experience is a must

• Troubleshoot and analysis of problems with major systems such as: VMware, storage systems, Windows and *ix systems

• Designing, Developing, and modernizing highly complex information systems

Desired Skills:

• Managing geographically dispersed large-scale 24/7 operational systems  

• Experience sustaining UEWR, or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS)

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
