JOB DESCRIPTION: 

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to work on complex projects crucial to our national security objectives. He/she will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services at a customer facility in the United Kingdom. 

Relocation assistance may be provided as well as housing stipend, cost of living, and other allowances for the duration of the tour. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Primarily support Chief Engineer and Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) leadership team in executing systems engineering activities across site.
  • Provide technical support to maintain continuity of operations and anomaly response processes and help with the planning for resiliency related activities
  • Analyze systems engineering activities and provide recommendations to multiple government customers; deliver key information, possible risks and impacts and associated handling plans; assess opportunities and potential improvements to government managers and other points of contact.
  • Analyze and document site system architecture and impacts associated with system updates/deliveries
  • Coordinate with government project managers to evaluate contractor performance and provide written and oral feedback consistent with findings and/or reviews.
  • Coordinate with the site engineering teams, review site workflows and processes necessary to ensure site baseline is documented and managed to enable future mission planning and growth.
  • Ensure SE&I team adheres to site engineering processes and standards throughout all phases of the system lifecycle management process.
  • Collaborate with Headquarters Directorates, site organizations, and mission partners to ensure understanding of project requirements and risks (cost, schedule, technical).  
  • Help develop standards, tools, and procedures for use on projects including but not limited to issue risk, change and information management.

Qualifications

Required: 

§  Must be a US Citizen.

§  Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.

§  Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or relevant field required and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; master’s and seven (7) years or more experience.

§  Knowledge of customer’s space and ground domain mission and technical capabilities.

§  Demonstrated experience with government customer’s systems engineering, mission readiness, and project management methods, familiar with site mission and ground systems integration processes.

§  Systems engineering background; understanding of systems development life cycle from concept, requirements, engineering design, integration and test, deployment, maintenance, through decommissioning.

§  Experience in requirements definition, system architectures, systems analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation, and verification.

  • Polished communicator and proven collaborator; demonstrated ability to coordinate across all levels of government to ensure contracts effectively deliver required services and capabilities.
  • Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics.

§  Familiar with model-based systems engineering and digital engineering concepts and tools; Agile development methodology, cloud technologies.

Desired:

  • Direct and current experience with customer.
  • Familiar with COOP processes.
  • Familiar with Confluence, JIRA.
  • Self-motivated with positive interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive recent familiarity with agency’s missions and organizations preferred.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering certifications are a plus.
