SAIC is seeking a Sr. Principal Specialty Engineer to provide technical intelligence support to programs for Space Systems Command (SSC) and Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC).  SSC equips U.S. forces with space control systems to gain, maintain, and exploit space superiority, and STARCOM NSTTC provides a national capability to perform both developmental and operation test of nationals security space systems located in Colorado Springs, CO.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the space control mission area and extensive experience in space system vulnerability and mission effectiveness analysis, survivability effectiveness methodologies, intelligence collection and production, and the ability to translate program technical requirements into intelligence requirements and survivability and mission effectiveness products to support acquisition decisions and operational planning.  The candidate will be expected to continually balance and adjust work priorities to meet short term work suspense and rapidly evolving customer needs in coordination with mission partners.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Directs the planning, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of a complex and dynamic portfolio of national security space capabilities of the highest national priority
  • Manages the modeling and simulation analysis, intelligence support, and production of survivability and mission effectiveness products and tools for ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management, mission partners and the intelligence community
  • Distills technical requirements into intelligence needs, documents intelligence requirements, coordinates with the intelligence community to meet program needs
  • Develops acquisition documentation to support program milestones.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical pursuit with 14+ years of relevant experience with:
    • MUST HAVE  Intelligence analysis/engineering 
    • MUST HAVE WORKING EXPERIENCE WITH Dept of Defense and the Intelligence Community 
    • Operational intelligence support
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable) 
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination

ยทDesired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree with 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with methodology development for space system survivability, kill-chain analysis and effectiveness analysis
  • Professional certification (e.g. INCOSE CSEP)

Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
