Description
SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This new program is part of a broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats.
SAIC is seeking an experienced System Engineer to manage our System Integration Lab (SIL) in support of our United States Air Force customer. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the system under test meets all project requirements are thoroughly understood, documented, and effectively communicated throughout the project lifecycle.
The candidate is required to perform the following tasks:
- Review program requirements to determine necessary SIL modification
- Obtain resources to ensure the SIL operates with little down time
- Schedule and allocate resources to support program integration and test requirements
- Manage configuration of the systems under test with the support of the Configuration Manager
- Receive, inventory and track all assets in the SIL
- Collaborate with shipping & receiving to deliver systems to customer
- Managing access to the SIL
- Ensuring equipment calibrations and any other maintenance activities are completed on schedule
- Serve as access control of personnel into the SIL
- Starts up all SIL equipment and loads all SIL software in an orderly fashion; shuts down in the same manner to reconfigure the SIL or close down for the day
- Monitors SIL schedules and ongoing test/integration activities and provides technical support, troubleshooting and repair or replacement of defective equipment
- Assists in planning periodic SIL upgrades to new wiring and equipment configurations
- Maintains inventory of hardware as well as security documentation on various systems/hardware/software
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Master’s degree and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience in managing weapon system under test
· Experience in establishing a new lab
· Experience in establishing network connections
· Ability to lead an integration and test team
· Demonstrated ability to adapt and optimize workflow for a lab environment
· Works with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work
· Provides regular status updates for ongoing work efforts
