The National Security & Space Sector of SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Comms Engineer to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.
SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation’s information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.
Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).
Job Description
Please note: This position requires reporting onsite to customer location in Quantico. VA three (3) times per week.
• Responsible for overseeing the configuring, managing, monitoring, and maintaining government Command and Control (C2) voice and video collaboration devices.
• Subject matter expert for architect, implementing, testing, and troubleshooting enterprise collaboration solutions supporting an operational voice and video network.
• Develops collaboration architecture designs, studies and plans; supports design, test readiness, and operational readiness reviews.
• Provides senior program managers with recommendations on voice and video collaboration approaches and strategies for new and continued business.
• Develops, implements, and manages voice and video collaboration processes including design standards to ensure compliance, relevancy, and sustainability.
• Performs capacity planning of the collaboration services by monitoring and analyzing network, performance and availability of voice and video services.
• Proactively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the collaboration environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership.
• Provides Tier III and IV support by providing trouble resolution of the voice and video infrastructure and perform on-call duties and off-hours support when needed.
• Flexible with scheduled support of outages after hours and on weekends.

It is required that the Senior Network Comms Engineer have the following qualifications:
Desired Qualifications
• BSEE, BSCE or BSCS with networking focus, and a minimum of 12+ year's relevant networking experience
• Experience with AMX • Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills desired
• Experience with voice and video performance management tools, security tools and appliances, layer two technologies, wireless communications, and firewall/gateway traversals is preferred
• Experience working in a lab development environment performing testing and development functions • Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others
• Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities
• The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP)
• Previous experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer
• Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls
