SAIC is actively looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to become a part of our dynamic team. Within this collaborative environment, the selected candidate will not only contribute their expertise but will work closely with a diverse group of professionals, including developers, data scientists, cloud engineers, architects, and customers. The Senior Data Engineer will play a crucial role in the success of our data-driven initiatives by constructing robust data pipelines and preparing data for consumption by data scientists, analysts, and various other data systems.
*This is a full-time remote job that can be worked anywhere within the US.*
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced data pipelines to seamlessly integrate data from diverse sources.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and architects to understand and address data requirements.
- Implement robust data quality checks and data validation processes.
- Optimize the performance and scalability of data systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and data infrastructure.
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best practices in data engineering.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field with five or more years of related experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Hands-on experience with data integration tools such as Apache Kafka or Apache Nifi.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS .
- Knowledge of SQL and expertise in database query optimization.
- Understanding of data governance and security standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and reliability.
