SAIC is seeking a Test Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Looking for a Test Engineer with experience in electrical/electronic testing, weapon systems integration with emphasis in hardware design and software showing strengths in electrical hardware and hardware integration, and software/firmware development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Rewrite current test requirement specifications in updated formats
  • Troubleshoot software and identify issues with hardware integration
  • Develop new software applications to perform MIL-STD-1553B stress testing
  • Incorporate changes and corrections into Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support Field Support Engineering Team
  • Support software for weapons integration and interface on H-60 R/S
  • Convert obsolete software into newly supported software package suite
  • Present technical briefs and reviews to management and customers
  • Review and write documents, processes, and provide expertise for customer feedback
  • Meet specified deadlines – position is very time sensitive with deliverable schedule
  • Initiate and execute engineering changes

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:            

  • Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of experience. 
  • Design and develop test requirements for software and hardware integration
  • Have experience with systems integration, electrical test, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to develop software applications for interface with hardware specifications.
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and engage to achieve a working understanding of interfaces based on existing aircraft sub-system specifications, briefing material, and verbal communication 

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Prefer a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Interim secret required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.  Clearance process will be sponsored by SAIC.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • NAVAIR experience
  • LabWindows experience
  • Experience with national instruments packages
  • Ability to analyze current prototype system against system requirements and document deficiencies and provide recommendations
  • Experience with electronics sustainment (obsolescence case management/ECPs)
  • Experience with Failure Review Boards
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1553B and RS-422/485 serial communications
  • Analyze data for engineering investigations of critical product failures
  • Generate Engineering Change Proposals as needed
