SAIC is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer to support PMA-205’s Live Training Environment Range & Modernization (RE&M) Deputy Class Desk. PMA-205 supports the full life-cycle acquisition of training systems, across multiple programs and platforms.

This role is hybrid-remote with work performed 2-3 days onsite in California, MD and is therefore open to local candidates in the area. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and evaluate technical development, review, and approval of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Perform reviews, studies, audits, evaluations, and analyses and provide technical recommendations.
  • Provide technical inputs in the creation and review of all engineering class desk documents (ex. SOW, CDRL, technical proposals, SETR planning, technical maturity, etc.) for inclusion and compliance with requirements.
  • As required, participate in PMRs, technical reviews, technical coordination meetings, Test Planning Working Groups (TPWG), CSWG, System Safety Working Group (SSWG), Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs)/Model Based Systems Engineering Activities, conferences, briefings, and other significant program activities. This consists of any preparation work (ex. briefing material) and tracking engineering action items associated with the aforementioned items. Identify and analyze the issues discussed, record action items, recommend courses of action, input action items and recommendations into the Program Management Database
  • Maintain Configuration Management of system performance specifications.
  • Manage system requirements to include decomposition, tracing, and tracking.
  • Plan and execute technical reviews and assessments according to entrance/exit criteria (e.g., System Requirements Review, design reviews, requirements compliance assessment).
  • Coordinate with multiple disciplines as required to prepare or review the technical documentation, proposals, investigations, analyses, needed to support the baseline program, ECPs, requirements/requirement changes, Product Test Verifications, and other appropriate documentation for all systems applicable to the customer, as well as for unique systems.
  • Facilitate communications across all stakeholders (PMA IPTs, USN, Contractor, FST, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with NAVAIR's Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) processes.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Engineering degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related scientific discipline.
  • ACTIVE Interim Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position.
  • Demonstrated experience with NAVAIR's Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) processes.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Coordination with different disciplines such as manufacturing, testing, requirements verification
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications: Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams
