SAIC has an immediate need for a Sr. Hybrid Cloud Engineer supporting our customer in College Park, MD. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Your role with SAIC will keep you engaged in a diverse, fast-paced government environment while interacting with government stakeholders, team members and  SAIC management.

This position supports the data center migration to either another data center or AWS.  Candidate should be able to analyze existing data center solutions and design solutions targeting either AWS or the new data center, as appropriate, then execute on these designs. Focus will be primarily on scientific software and HPC (High Performance Computing) workflows, IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), and development of tools for the monitoring and management of a heterogenous environment. This Center encompasses a diversity of IT areas and has a deserved reputation for leading adoption of new technologies.  A strong candidate will have the freedom to analyze and implement new solutions where applicable, with the rewards of personal growth.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in an IT related field and nine (9) years of IT experience required, twelve (12) years preferred 
• 3 years of experience in the design, development and implementation of small  software products or enhancements to existing software in an agile environment
• Experience refactoring legacy code and or applications in a cloud native environment
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of serverless computing concepts
• 2 years of experience with cloud migration solutions and hybrid cloud management solutions
• Demonstrated experience with programming languages and scripting methods including: C, C++ , C#, Java, Python, R, and Perl
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and assessing impact of proposed scope changes
• Solid understanding of distributed computing clusters (HPC)
• Experience with HPC (High Performance Computing) technologies: Linux, Environment Modules, Slurm, Nextflow, Anaconda
• Demonstrated experience in Object Oriented Design (OOD) and analysis
• Proficiency in the use of Linux on both the command line and in a graphical environment
• Demonstrated experience with Git for source control
• Demonstrated experience with AWS CloudFormation
• Hands on experience in following the iterative and agile SDLC
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• At least 1 year experience with AWS technologies: EC2, EBS, EFS, FSx, StorageGateway, RDS, API Gateway
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to create original documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams
• Must be a United States Citizen and posses the ability to obtain a Public Trust due to contract requirements 

Target salary range: $135,001 - $145,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
