SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician  to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Middletown, RI.

Job Duties:

• Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype and production electro mechanical systems.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Ability to create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair prototypes. Layout, assembly, and wiring of control panels, wiring harnesses, and electronics chassis.
• Manages resources,  inventory, and workload for tasks to complete per a production schedule.
• Comfortable interfacing with management, customers, and other departments.
• Supervision Received: Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of an associate’s degree and eight  (8) years of relevant experience or a high school diploma and ten (10) years related experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain SECRET clearance.
• Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Familiarity with electrical based systems and/or schematics.
  • Project management experience.
  • Production experience.
