Candidates will be expected to lead several major efforts (over the next few years):
- Design/Update/Implement Data Center Layouts in preparation for a large-scale relocation, as well as potential expansions of existing spaces. Layouts would include racks, power systems, redundancy, HVAC, etc.
- Formulate and drive the standardization, automation and simplification of process and best practices of Data Center Management
- Develop and Maintain Metrics of Power and Space utilization to estimate future growth
Candidates can expect to perform the following daily duties:
- Install/De-install rack mountable computer equipment
- Track equipment via tracking software and/or spreadsheets
- Be responsible for the maintenance of Multiple Server Rooms (including organization, cleaning and escorting)
- Perform basic System Administration duties such as configuring Power Management Systems
- Travel in the WMA and CONUS locations (<5-10% of the time)
- Work outside of normal business hours for installs or escorting (<5% of the time)
Qualifications
- Must have an active TS/SCI with Poly
- 3-5 Years in a data center environment
- 9+ years overall relevant experience
- Layer 1 networking knowledge/experience including installation, design and transport technologies (copper, fiber - single/multi-mode, etc)
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs. with a partner
- Experience installing and laying out racks
Desired:
- Experience implementing HVAC technologies
- Experience relocating a data center
