Description
SAIC is seeking an IT Service Manager to perform as a technical advisor to a government customer operating a VMware based private cloud. The successful candidate will deliver Subject Matter Expertise (SME) level oversight of a dedicated service delivery contract (i.e., Service Provider) through the documentation of evolving requirements, the development of service designs, analysis of alternatives, and acquisition of the hardware and software required to deliver the selected design(s). The candidate will assist with the prioritization of work packages, assessments of Power/Space/Cooling (P/S/C) need, and the service provider’s deployment service delivery. In this advisory role, the candidate may be called upon to help troubleshoot issues impacting operations, assess service demand and capacity projections, or help shape future compute and storage solutions. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with senior government, contractor, and mission operations personnel while representing the customer’s equities at various boards and Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs). Communications may require the candidate to development and delivery of presentations, produce/deliver governing processes/procedures, and participate in the negotiation of vendor outcomes.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
· Six (6) years of IT service management experience utilizing tools such as HP Service Now
· The creation and implementation of strategic plans, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and supporting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Conversion of user needs into documented technical requirements packages
· Prior participation as an evaluator of another team’s technical proposal(s)
· Demonstrated experience troubleshooting integrated, highly complex IT deployments
· Demonstrated experience with service management activities used to determine cost, schedule, and performance impacts that may impact multi-year budgets
· Certification in an applicable IT service technology
