Description
SAIC is seeking a unique candidate with both HW and SW experience; this position is based out of Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX. (This is an onsite position)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware/Software Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining software and hardware solutions for flight simulation, research, and virtual reality applications. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain software and hardware systems for flight simulation, research, and virtual reality applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and domain experts, to design and implement cutting-edge solutions.
Research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in flight simulation, virtual reality, and related technologies.
Contribute to the development of immersive and realistic flight simulation experiences, ensuring high fidelity and accuracy.
Optimize existing software and hardware systems to improve performance and user experience.
Troubleshoot and debug software and hardware issues, providing timely resolutions.
Create and maintain documentation for software and hardware components, including user manuals and technical guides.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and quality assurance processes to ensure the highest quality deliverables.
Collaborate with customers, partners, and end-users to gather requirements and feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's and five (5) years experience; or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree
IATII certification such as Security+ or SSCP
Proven experience in software and hardware development, with a strong focus on flight simulation and virtual reality applications.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and Java.
Knowledge of 3D modeling and simulation tools like Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with hardware components used in virtual reality systems (e.g., VR headsets, motion tracking devices)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with real-time physics simulation and modeling.
Knowledge of aerospace and aviation industry standards.
Familiarity with motion platforms and flight control systems.
Understanding of how to reach out to vendors and develop solutions
