SAIC seeks a talented individual to provide Technical Writer capabilities to prepare, update and maintain designated sections of the Aegis Combat Systems Capabilities and Limitations (ACS C&L) documents along with FMS, SSDS and LCS combat systems. This position will be located at Port Hueneme, CA. 

Job duties include:

• Provides engineering support for the analysis of current and developmental combat systems and the interoperability of such systems and able to interface with C&L Subject Matter Experts.
• Serve as an authoritative consultant to engineering and contractor personnel in identification of design problems both present and future, causing corrective action, and subsequent verification and documentation of systems effectiveness. 
• Support includes document development and updates, and shall be in accordance with the necessary system design specifications and reference documentation such as ECPs, SHIPALTs, ORDALTs, weapons specifications, computer program definition documents and other pertinent publications. 
• Other responsibilities include preparing, updating and maintaining documents in accordance with the C&L productions schedules, technical review processes and any emerging requirements as defined by the Government. 

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

• Bachelors and six (6) years or more related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more related experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required Skills:

• Familiarity of the Aegis Combat System. Additional skills desired are some knowledge in Foreign Military Combat Systems, LCS Combat Systems and SSDS.
• Work well with team and independently plan, manage and execute evolving system upgrades into proper documentation for inclusion into the fleet.

• Must have active Secret security clearance.

Target salary range: $85,001 - $95,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
