Description
SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the US Navy in Yuma, AZ.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
- Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
- Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).
- Performs mathematical calculations per engineering specifications.
- Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- AA degree in related discipline and nine (9) years of related experience; Or, High School and eleven (11) years of related experience.
- 4 – 5 years of engineering technician and/or communications and electrical experience.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong electrical/mechanical background; baseline of networking or information technology.
- Preferred vendor experience: FLIR Camera Systems, AVT Optics, Cisco Network Devices, Motorola Radios, Harris Radios, US Towers.
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Interim clearance required to start; SAIC will sponsor clearance process.
- Must be a US citizen.
