SAIC is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in support of the recently awarded NIWC LANT Transformational Technology Analysis (TTA) for Defense Systems. This work is performed on site in North Charleston, SC.
About the Program:
- Enables analyses of advanced technology experiments in platforms and space systems
- Assists NIWC Atlantic with the development of seedling, demonstration and new start projects, and supporting prototyping activities and experimentation to assist in gaining sponsorship for strategic initiatives
- Generates STI in the form of designs, test plans, test reports, evaluations, and technical studies, as well as the recommended integration of prototype components and designs for new or existing robotic systems
- Enhances NIWC Atlantic’s ability to meet program goals including: Conducting and supporting a wide range of defense-systems and weapons systems related studies, evaluations, and analysis of methods
- Experiments in both virtual environments utilizing modeling and simulation and militarily relevant environments
- Transitions developed technology into Department of Defense capabilities
- Develops and test autonomous computer security technologies whose future iterations may someday protect national networks
Position Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.
- Conducts risk and vulnerability assessment at the network, system and application level.
- Develops and implements security controls and formulates operational risk mitigations along with assisting in security awareness programs. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
- Utilizes COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusions.
- Assists in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, DCID 6/3), and makes recommendations on process tailoring.
- Performs analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
- Supports the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.
- Periodically conducts a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.
- May support cyber metrics development, maintenance and reporting.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience or master's degree and three (3) or more years of experience. Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- Active Secret clearance.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
