SAIC has an immediate opening for a Senior Network/Systems Engineer, working with a diverse team of analysts, linguists, cultural experts, and operations officers, focused on creating and recognizing targeting opportunities and strategies in the cyber-realm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support a variety of networks in a mission-critical enterprise environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team, without a constant management presence.
  • Troubleshooting network issues, and customer service skills, including the ability to defuse situations, and to deal with individuals who might not fully understand the technology, is required.
  • Works in a team of various government, subcontractor, and prime contractor personnel.
  • Day-to-day network administration and operations tasks. 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and (9) nine years’ experience
  • TS/SCI Clearance required; Must be able to obtain a Poly
  • Knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems required
  • Knowledge of VMWare ESXi, vSphere, vCenter.
  • Experience working with serial console terminal servers.
  • Knowledge of Mac OSX.
  • Senior Network/Systems Engineer must demonstrate Advanced Knowledge of TCP/IP, network infrastructure, and networked appliances, to include administrative access and configuration experience.
  • Perform requirements and taskings using experience in Security+ or CISSP certification on day one. 
  • Must be fully conversant in the OSI model. Engineer must have the ability to troubleshoot production networks in real time without causing down time.
  • Experience with Cisco infrastructure equipment - routers, switches, SAN switch fabrics, VoIP telephones.
  • Demonstrate the ability to trace network and system issues back to their source, and to remediate issues without continuous supervision.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications networks, including PSTN, ISDN (BRI and PRI), ATM, MPLS, Point-to-Point, Frame Relay. 
  • Advanced knowledge of switch fabrics, layered infrastructure design, trunked interconnectivity, and VLANs.
  • Knowledge of network-attached storage systems and iSCSI-based SANs. 
  • Additionally, COMSEC Experience in loading key material, configuring, and maintenance. Knowledge of classified communication systems.
