SAIC is seeking a System Administrator to join our team in Panama City, Florida. 

Job Responsibilities:

System Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine system maintenance on Windows Server 2019 and Linux Red Hat servers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
    Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes as necessary to maintain system integrity.

Security Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with DoD and industry-specific security standards, such as DISA STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and NIST guidelines.
  • Perform regular security scans, vulnerability assessments, and system hardening to protect against cyber threats.

Patch Management:

  • Manage and implement patches and updates for all systems, coordinating patch schedules to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

System Monitoring:

  • Set up and maintain monitoring tools to proactively identify and address system issues.
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and security events.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve system-related issues, including hardware failures, software errors, and network connectivity problems.
  • Provide timely incident response and technical support to end-users and stakeholders.

Disaster Recovery Planning:

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup procedures for critical systems.
  • Test and execute disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and system availability.

System Deployments:

  • Deploy new systems and services, including installation, configuration, and testing of Windows Server 2019 and Red Hat Linux-based solutions.
  • Ensure systems are delivered with the necessary security and compliance measures.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and two (2) years or more related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. 

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in scripting and automating administrative tasks in a Windows environment using PowerShell.
  • Ability to create and maintain PowerShell scripts for system monitoring, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Ansible for automating configuration management and application deployment tasks.
  • Capable of writing and modifying Ansible playbooks for system administration.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Linux commands and file structure, with the ability to manage and troubleshoot Linux-based servers.
  • Understanding of basic to mid-level Linux system administration tasks, including user management, package installation, and system maintenance.
  • Experience in configuring, managing, and maintaining Windows Server 2019 environments.
    Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows Server 2019 and its roles and features.
  • Basic understanding of networking typologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
  • Capable of troubleshooting network-related issues and working with networking equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ability to perform basic configuration and troubleshooting tasks on Cisco devices.
  • Awareness of security best practices and the ability to implement and maintain security measures for servers and client computers.
  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining system configuration records, incident reports, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and other IT professionals.

Required Certification

CompTIA security+ certification is required prior to first day of employment. 

Required Security Clearance

US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.  A minimum of an Interim Secret clearance is required to start.
