Chief Cyber Engineer - Cybersecurity 

Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Chief Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Space Command and Control (C2) Program Management Office within the Space Force's Space Systems Command's Battle Management Command, Control & Communications (BMC3) Program Executive Office, located in El Segundo, CA

The Chief Cyber Engineer serve's as a subject matter expert in the development of cybersecurity best practices and as such, you will play a crucial role in providing recommendations for resiliency and availability of DoD software systems pertaining to space, best practices for securing supply chain, and enabling effective processes and procedures to protect the nations space programs. 

 

Your primary responsibilities will involve contributing to the development, deployment, modernization, and expansion efforts of the Space C2 program. The position requires you having an in-depth experience with DoD program acquisition processes and documentation and being able to interact and coordinate  on a daily basis with numerous stakeholders (Program Managers, Contracting Officers, System Engineers, and external/partner organizations).

 Fun stuff you will do on the job:

  • Drive a strategy for Cyber Network Services, Cyber Systems Analysis, including design, documentation, and briefings to senior leaders and stakeholders to drive stability, resiliency, scalability, and flexibility into the BMC3 ground systems architecture
  • Support various systems architecting and cyber activities, including system requirements definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, verification and validation, integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis and estimation, decision analysis, and physical configuration assessments
  • Provide Integrated Product Support, with a focus on identifying, developing, implementing, incentivizing, and measuring quantifiable best value outcome-based product support solutions that optimize Life-Cycle Cost
  • Assist the program office with securely scaling the development of prototyped systems to enterprise operational applications for space

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (This is you): 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 18 years of relevant experience with:
    • Implementing large scale, highly-available, complex solutions for software services and applications surrounding cybersecurity
    • Supporting and/or managing technical programs throughout the software engineering life cycle
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable) 
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination

You will wow us even more if you have experience will the following: 

  • Relevant Master’s Degree with:
    • Experience developing/integrating cybersecurity best practices regarding maintenance, administration, engineering, architecture, development, patching, and upgrades of various applications, and systems used for space operations
    • Understanding of enterprise IT change and configuration management policies, implementing changes to cybersecurity and/or cyberspace operational systems, software, devices, etc. (e.g. access management, monitoring, configuration management, etc.)
    • Management of system configuration and monitoring changes to increase effectiveness or efficiencies in the systems capabilities toward monitoring and implementing logical access controls to enforce policy
    • Design, develop, document, test, and debug cybersecurity and/or cyberspace operations application software using secure coding practices
    • Enabling development delivery speed while maintaining high cyber hygiene for information systems
  • Standard certifications in Information Security (SSCP, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, EC-Council) and/or vendor-specific certifications

Target salary range: $200,001 - $225,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
