Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Navy Ballistic Defense Missile SME to support the Commander, Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) Ballistic Missile Defense Exercise (BMDEX) training program as a Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Tactical Operations expert (BMD TacOps SME) in San Diego, CA. The BMD TacOps SME will support planning and coordination of Ballistic Missile Defense Exercises (BMDEX) and Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) events. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of BMD operations and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments, and will require occasional travel in support of BMD exercises. 

Job Duties:

  • Develop progressive, realistic and challenging BMD distributed, synthetic training scenarios that facilitate rehearsal and refinement of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Support BMDEX development by planning and coordinating participation of all units/nodes in a synthetic training environment that most closely meets those of real world operations.
  • Maintain SME knowledge on evolving BMD systems, technologies, threats, and TTPs to ensure introduction into training scenarios.
  • Work with the Tactical Training Group, Pacific Technical Team to ensure training architecture will enable attainment of Navy/Joint training objectives.
  • Support military mentoring and assessment of participants by providing detailed evaluations of participant performance based on NMET/JMET conditions and standards during exercise execution.
  • Liaise with Navy, agency, joint, and coalition counterparts on BMD-related issues and developments.
  • Be prepared to brief Navy and joint leadership on exercise design, operational procedures and exercise outcomes.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of six years (6) years of experience conducting US Navy shipboard BMD watch-team training and recent experience conducting BMD exercises, training and operations in the Surface Navy as a Naval Officer or Chief Petty Officer.
  • Must already possess Interim Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
  • Aegis BMD Watch Officer (BM1 AQD) qualification.


Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
