Description
SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Transition Planner/Lead, to support the US Space Force with mission system modernization, meeting mission requirements, providing new capabilities, and supporting the USSF mission. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, provides technical expertise for transition activities related to software and hardware integration from operations for the space launch ranges. This position is ON-SITE at either Cape Canaveral, FL or Vandenberg, CA.
Job Duties:
Supports Government leads with transition planning and transition plan execution.
Supports identifying transition risks and mitigations.
Provides input into and review reports and deliverables prior to submittal, as applicable. Supports development of program Knowledge Transfer (KT) plan and supports KT activities while ensuring no disruption to ongoing services.
Participates in daily transition team status meetings, as applicable.
Holds Technical Direction Plan (TDP) Project Kickoff Meetings and provides the TDP Project Kick-off Agenda and prepares and delivers the TDP Project Kickoff Minutes.
Works with the range sustainment contractor integration leads and customer to develop a transition plan to transition TDL deliverables after validation, verification and certification is accomplished.
Participates in recurring program transition status updates to FEDSIM COR, and other stakeholders, as requested. Supports Operational Assumption Plan (OAP) development and actively participates in and supports Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of related experience or an additional 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of degree
Must have a Secret clearance
Experience in systems engineering
Experience with modernizing systems in a DoD environment
Experience with developmental and operational testing
Must be able to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices to accomplish projects for the government program office
