Description

This position is in support of the Department of State (DOS) as a part of the Vanguard 2.2.1 contract. The candidate will be responsible for the development of automation solutions utilizing Ansible Automation Platform and RedHat . The candidate will work as part of a team automating data center infrastructure and operations problems.

The position may allow temporary hybrid remote work due to Covid-19.  Position may be called back onsite at any time at the customer's request. Associate is currently expected onsite 2 days/week.

Description of Duties

Execute the duties and responsibilities as a member of the DOS Operations team:

  • Develop, test, and deploy Ansible playbooks.
  • Collect requirements, analyze solution, and create recommendation and track Agile stories.
  • Work collaboratively with the other Operations engineering team to create and deploy automation solutions for Cisco, MFNA, ServiceNow and other distributed data center technologies.
  • Administer Ansible infrastructure, perform maintenance and configuration and provide SME level support.
  • Provide technical documentation, procedures, and technical support to Ops concerning automation solution usage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments for identified infrastructure.
  • Update system documentation, diagrams and Standard Operation Procedures as needed.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Education

  • BS and 9 years of experience; MS and 7 years of experience; May accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with Ansible Core and Ansible Tower (Experience with Ansible strongly preferred, however open to other DevOps tools experience).
  • Strong experience coding and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Batch files, etc.)
  • Strong experience with RHEL 6 or RHEL 7, Windows 2016 / 2020 System / Server Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Source Code Control Systems (Git).
  • Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.
  • Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements.

Required Clearance

  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance

Desired Experience, Skills, & Attributes

  • Strong background in VMWare administration.
  • Knowledge of VMWare Integrated Openstack or Openstack.
  • Cloud technologies with an emphasis on Azure services.
  • LAN/WAN networking experience.
  • Experience with Active Directory expertise
