SAIC is seeking an AWS Engineer Cybersecurity Engineer to join our energized Engineering Innovation Factory Team of IT Engineers and Digital engineers to define and build the infrastructure that fuels the Digital Engineering Transformation across our entire industry. Our work creating digital ecosystems span an exciting variety of programs, customers and corporate initiatives requiring Digital Engineering and Model Based Engineering applications and infrastructure deployed in Defense, Federal Civilian, and/or National Security environments.

In this position, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the cyber security footprint of our new Digital Engineering cloud-based infrastructure, used by our internal and external customers. The chosen candidate will maintain the Cyber Security profile, System Security Plan (SSP) and baseline architecture to include security, network, and patching and maintenance. The candidate will also be responsible for communicating as the EIF Cyber Liaison to the SAIC Enterprise Cyber Security Organization. 

As part of our Engineering Innovation Factory Team, you will engage with other digital engineering subject matter experts and foster broader understanding of the Digital engineering infrastructure and ecosystems to assist them in securing the digital work products. You will also be required to engage with the larger community (Industry, Government, and Academia) to stay up to date with latest trends and emerging technologies, approaches, methods, and techniques to further mature and or increase our digital engineering security capabilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  •      Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience as a cyber security engineer. Will consider 4+ years of experience in lieu of education.
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI clearance as needed.
  • Ability to get certified in AWS Security specialty within the first 6 month of being hired.
  • Hold a CompTIA Security+ or greater certification.
  • Has the experience and ability to develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs).
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant security regulations and standards (i.e. NIST800 – 171).
  • Can implement Operating System patches to remediate system security vulnerabilities.
  • Have a strong understanding of security best practices and how to apply them in a cloud environment, such as implementing access controls, data encryption, and network security.
  • Experience with Linux servers and Windows Servers in a virtualized environment.
  • Programming and scripting skills. You may need to write code or scripts to automate security tasks or integrate security tools into the cloud environment. Familiarity with programming languages — such as Python and Bash — can be helpful.
  • Basic understanding of IT network infrastructure components including database services, application services, web services, network services, back-up services and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be willing to become a notary.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Conducting security assessments and audits to locate and address vulnerabilities.
  • Setting up firewalls to protect cloud servers, cloud databases, and sites hosted in cloud infrastructure.
  • Implementing security monitoring and alerting systems to detect and respond to unauthorized access and potential threats.
  • Has experience as a member of a Cybersecurity team that achieved an ATO for a system at Impact Level 5 (IL5).
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code methodologies such as Terraform and/or AWS Cloudformation.
  • AWS Cloud Certifications - Solution Architect and/or Developer
  • Experience supporting US Federal Government agencies and processes.
  • Experience or Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Some experience with Systems / Digital Engineering.
