SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Austin, Texas.
This position will be a hybrid/remote opening.
Job Duties:
- Perform task dealing with data gathering for and conduct of IT network architecture design activities
- Prepare and deliver enterprise-level recommendations for Army networks associated with research and development (R&D) environments
- Consideration for and conduct of cybersecurity, network/data segmentation and requirements capture
- Ability to work with several existing network architectures
- The ability to estimate time and material cost for projects and work with multiple organizations and network personnel to achieve the final design
- Lead a group of technical IT support personnel, lead and/or serve as a member of a team, and interact with customers on a daily basis
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years ore more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. Commercial network vendor certification is desired.
Required Skills:
· Network experience with academic, government (DoD is desired) or commercial networks
· Land-based Network design and troubleshooting
· Cloud technology connectivity implementations
Desired Skills:
· Familiarity with the Defense Research Engineering Network (DREN)
· Knowledge of the Army Cybersecurity process
· Working knowledge of and/or experience with Cloud Technology and software-defined network implementation (Azure, AWS, Oracle or VMware) experience
· MA/MS with 10 to 13 years of experience
Required Clearance:
· Must have an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
