Description
SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician III in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy. The person in this position will aid in repairs of the system after startup and provide system familiarization training to sailors on the ship as part of verification testing.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience; Associates and two (2) years of experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Formal Navy Schoolhouse training on a Maritime or Airborne Electronic Warfare System
- Knowledge and understanding of the Shipboard Electronic Warfare systems to include AN/SLQ-32, ES-3601, WBR-2000, MK53 NULKA, SLA-10D, and HGHS
- Experience reading ship diagrams for power distribution, LP air systems, and valve alignments for both air and water systems
- Experience and trouble-shooting skills with interface issues for copper, fiber and RF over Fiber connections
- Ability to climb ship mast and work from heights
- Ability to work with harness on while aloft
- Ability to work within confined spaces
- Flexibility to travel on short notice to provide on-ship support
DESIRED
- Fiber certification
- IT/Windows/Linux experience
- Previous EW Experience (general)
- Previous technician experience (example: former Navy EW CTT/CTM or Aviation Electrician’s Mates, Aviation Electronics Technician)
