SAIC is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist Senior to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

This role of this position is to protect the modeling and simulation (M&S) exercise networks of the US Air Forces in Europe & Air Forces Africa Warfare Center (UAWC) at Einsiedlerhof Air Station in Germany. Success in this position directly impacts the training readiness of United States and partner military forces in Europe.

The Cybersecurity Specialist Senior will:

  • Support the sustainment of the accredited cybersecurity posture of the UAWC’s domain enclaves by actively tracking and maintaining each network’s cyber-vulnerability level and compliance with applicable Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs).
  • Provide technical inputs for Cyber Vulnerability Management (CVM) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) regarding remediation timelines or vulnerability mitigation.
  • Assist in providing network scan reports for submission to the appropriate CVM repository.
  • Assist in researching proposed configuration updates. Apply a “patch-and-test” approach to determine if a particular configuration update will have a detrimental effect on UAWC processes and mission.
  • Provide guidance of Department of Defense (DoD) and United States Air Force (USAF) policies and instructions related to the following: the A&A processes; USAF Security, Interoperability, Supportability, Sustainability and Interoperability (SISSU) activities; DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS); and DoD’s Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Implement network security controls and ensure controls do not degrade performance and availability requirements needed to execute and sustain UAWC mission requirements.
  • Provide M&S network cybersecurity to include the following:
    • Collaborate with Cybersecurity POCs to address A&A.
    • Attend technical exchange meetings.
    • Review system architecture for RMF as well as the respective A&A documentation.
    • Document problem areas and provide recommendations for a resolution.
  • Validate implementation of Information Assurance (IA) controls.

Qualifications

  • Must be US Citizen and possess Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • A bachelor's degree plus 5 years of recent Cybersecurity experience, OR;
    • An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent Cybersecurity experience, OR;
    • A major certification* plus 7 years of recent Cybersecurity experience, OR;
    • 11 years of recent Cybersecurity experience.
  • DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Understanding of DoD policies and procedures, including FIPS 199, FIPS 200, NIST 800-53, and DHS 4300A Sensitive Systems Handbook (SSH).
  • Experience with ACAS vulnerability scanners, HBSS, SEIM, and ePO.

*Major certifications include: CASP+, CCIE, CCISO, CCSP, CFR, CISM, CISSP, CySA+, GCED, GCFA, GCIH, JNCIE-SEC, RCHA, RHCSA, SEC+

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • CASP+ Certification
  • Operating system certification (i.e., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert and/or Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows environment, UNIX, Linux, Hyper convergence technology, VMWare, VDI zero client architecture, cross-domain solutions.
