Description
SAIC is looking for a Junior Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team supporting an important US government agency in the National Capital Region. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that engineers and implement upgrades and changes to critical IT systems and applications.
The customer manages and maintains a roadmap of IT infrastructure projects and upgrades that are prioritized and tasked to support contractors. Major projects include, Implementing CI/CD with Azure DevOPs technology stack, Azure Cloud adoption, Windows and Linux operating system upgrades, Oracle and SQL Azure Infrastructure build out and application migration to cloud, datacenter migrations and more. These are a few examples of the important tasks and projects for which the project manager in this position would be responsible for leading and managing.
IT Project managers provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams comprised of systems engineers, architects, SecOps, Database and Network team, project sponsors and others. Project managers are responsible for implementing and maintaining the Project management structure using Agile framework, Leading day-to-day management of the project by analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines, creating deliverables and providing reporting progress against the plan to senior executives, Performing horizontal planning and interfaces with other function areas. Overall responsibility for ensuring all tasks are completed within the timelines, consulting and coordinating with the appropriate Government Senior Manager for problem resolution, task scheduling, new resource requirements, training needs, and task clarification, Establishing and implementing streamlined processes and procedures, enabling the project team to rapidly respond to surge requirements for increased contract personnel, Assigning and reviewing the work of cloud systems analysts, cloud architects, cloud engineers, and other cloud related worker for the build out the roadmap, scope, schedule. Responsibilities also include managing scope, coordinating stakeholder participation, assessing and mitigating risks, and collecting lessons learned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of project management experience in a technical environment leading the execution of IT projects in the federal Space.
REQUIRED SKILLS: PMI Certification required, DevOps, Agile methodology, Scrum framework Knowledge and experience. The candidate must also have broad knowledge of current Information Technology systems, Infrastructures, and cloud platforms and technologies.
Candidate must also have strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a large community of stakeholders. Candidates must possess leadership skills to successfully manage diverse teams. All candidates for consideration must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
DESIRED SKILLS: Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure projects, SDLC and Azure cloud adoption. A strong working knowledge of network technologies and concepts, Active Directory, Windows OS, and Desktop and cloud applications such as Office365 and SharePoint Online.
