Description

SAIC is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to lead test and evaluation support for government customer in the D.C. metro area. Come join an established team of skilled professionals supporting TSA technologies used to keep our nation's transportation systems safe.

Must be able to obtain a DHS suitability clearance (public trust).

Position includes roughly 10% travel to local customer and SAIC sites in the D.C. metro area (within 50 miles) and possible travel to domestic airports in support of testing. Work schedule allows flexibility within ability to meet customer needs but does require working evenings and/or weekends during busy periods.

Candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing formal deliverables (plans, reports, etc.) for operational test and evaluation events based on requirements and data analysis
  • Developing data collection strategies for diverse test events (onsite vs remote, equipment vs information systems, etc.)
  • Analyzing large datasets using relational databases (MS Access and SQL Server)
  • Conducting routine mathematical/statistical analyses using MS Excel, Python, and/or R
  • Leading and reviewing work of small teams (2-10 people), providing direction according to established policies and management guidance
  • Developing data collection personnel schedules, designs of experiments, and cost estimates
  • Formulating and applying mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information
  • Analyzing data and developing decision support products
  • Interpreting results and formulating insights and findings supported by the data analysis
  • Providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives
  • Independently determining and developing approach to solutions that are collaboratively finalized. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Demonstrating good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Communicating frequently within the organization and with customer contacts. Representing organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
  • Ability to prioritize workload to achieve requirements and meet deadlines
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Fluent with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience writing technical documentation for government clients
  • Ability to decompose test scope and requirements into schedules and cost estimates
  • Understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines
