Description

Performs Systems Engineering activities related to National Security Space Systems. The Requirements, Risk and Data Management Systems Engineer is a system engineering management position critical to the success of a portfolio of programs. This systems engineering professional applies all the disciplines required to systematically identify, manage, correlate and assess information across multiple projects to ensure end-to-end mission and project closure. This position will support the development, systems engineering and acquisition management, and delivery of national intelligence systems. In this role, this position requires a working knowledge on how to manage requirements throughout the lifecycle, from development through compliance verification and closure. This position also supports the identification, creation and management of risks and opportunities across the program and supports engineering and acquisition data management activities. The individual selected will support the identification and building of techniques, program processes, and tools necessary to ensure the efficient and effective execution of systems engineering and acquisition activities within the program. In addition, this position is responsible for providing training, consulting and recommendations to our customer in support of the execution of the tasks within this area.

SCOPE:  Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. 

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

IMPACT: Guides the successful completion of major programs. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

LIASON: Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

- Experience in systems engineering

- Risk and Opportunity Management experience

- Experience with requirements development, management and compliance verification

- Experience with DOORS Requirements Management tool

- Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office tools

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize competing requirements and tasks

- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
