SAIC is seeking a Logistics Management Specialist to support multiple organizations with a variety of Integrated Product Support tasks - involving document (SOP) development, document review, Ordnance SOP writing, Hazardous Material, Calibration, and 6S (Lean Management).  

 

Note: This position is temporarily remote and expected to return to fully onsite.

Duties will include the use of various Navy and Department of Defense enterprise systems, as well as non-standard (local) data systems, and information repositories such as SharePoint and IPDM. Support will include the following: preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documentation that incorporates information and data from Program Office, customer, end user, project leads, SMEs, and ISEAs.

Other duties may include:

  •    Drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  •    Reviewing SOPs for efficiency and potential improvements.
  •    Reviewing technical documentation for grammatical and punctuation errors.
  •    Uploading and route documentation within Integrated Product Management (IPDM) system for review and approval.
  •    Conducting inspections of organic workspaces ensuring compliance with Lean/6S procedures and DoN Policies.
  •    Participating in monthly working groups related to Quality Control, Hazardous Material Management, and Calibration.
  •    Preparing written products supporting decision makers’ information requirements.
  •    Developing and maintain slide presentations for team meetings.
  •    Configuration Management Support.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. 
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and analytical skills, including the ability to develop general concepts into written procedures.
  • Background with technical writing or Ordnance and Non-Ordnance related Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Intermediate to advanced operational experience of Lean/6S and IPDM. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a diverse environment.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software, systems and processes. 
  • Strong familiarity of military supply chain processes and product life-cycle management.
  • Intermediate to advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office suite of programs such as Outlook, Microsoft PPT, Excel and Word. 
  • Familiarity of DoD acquisition, procurement, and business.
  • Ability to work at a Government facility in Crane, IN.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance. An Interim Secret is required to start.
