SAIC is seeking a Database Developer to be a member of the Software Engineering team in support of the Headquarters, program J6 mission. The Database Developer responsibilities includes understanding customer requirements and objectives, designing and developing database schemas, and supporting web team application development, collaborating with subject matter experts, and providing technical expertise to produce results. Determines user needs, programming techniques, and prepares operating instructions and users’ guides. Ensures development meets software standards and security compliance. This position is hybrid remote based in Tampa, FL.

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain high-quality database schema to be used by various web application and reporting
• Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
• Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements and build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables
• Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and profiling
• Develop procedures and scripts for data migration
• Provide timely scheduled management reporting

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, and 9 years of experience. OR the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
• 9+ years of working experience using databases and creating stored procedures in SQL Server using T-SQL and designing database schema.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required for DoD 8570 compliance
• Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with relational RDBMS concepts, design, architecture, and operations. 
• Extensive experience with development of SQL DML, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Functions.
• In-depth knowledge of database administration concepts, SQL queries, performance tuning, profiler, and optimization
• Experience with Azure SQL database services is desirable.
• Experience with supporting .Net web development teams and working with other O&M teams.
• Experience with MS SQL Server to include MS SQL Server 2016/2019.
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) and Visual Studio.
• Understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis (SSAS)
• Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirements.
• Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office tools including Visio
• Knowledge of development technologies and concepts, knowledge of MS SharePoint architecture, VM Ware, and PowerShell Script.
• The ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment where each day provides a new set of challenges under short time constraints involving complex network configuration and/or troubleshooting requirements
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with stakeholders to define application requirements
• Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense security requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures
