SAIC is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer in support of our NOAA customer and the Office of Space Commerce.  This exciting position requires AWS Cloud Engineering skills to support development of critical emerging space industry infrastructure. The selected candidate will bring AWS Cloud administration and architecture related technical skills to the Program by supporting a developer ecosystem spanning multiple Agencies and private contractors.   Candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively across development and infrastructure teams, being flexible in support of the overall project.  As new requirements are identified, candidate will offer insight into the capabilities of AWS infrastructure in achieving larger mission outcomes beyond IT.

Responsibilities include:

• Executes AWS Cloud System Administration activities as part of an AWS team, in support of a DevSecOps environment.  This includes:
• Provisions AWS infrastructure and management for broad set of AWS Services.
• Supports developer communities by establishing DevSecOps toolchains, and related platform, environment standup and operation.
• Maintains cybersecurity compliance of AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborates with application developers to provide guidance and implement disaster recovery capable infrastructure.
• Supports development and maintenance of hardened images for the environment.
• Supports cybersecurity teams with incident response, vulnerability remediation, and other related activities as it pertains to the AWS Services in use.
• Develops and maintains Cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
• Ensures efficient functioning of data storage and process functions in accordance with Agency security policies and best practices in cloud security.
• Supports developer community in resolution of application deployment issues.
• Interacts with other IT professionals, Agency personnel, and mission owners to  provide cloud support, and makes recommendations based on client needs.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree and nine years of experience; Masters and seven years of experience; or PhD or JD and four years of experience
• AWS SysOps Administrator Associate or AWS DevOps Engineer Pro (Current)
• Two (2) or more years of demonstrated experience in the following:
• Technical ability to establish, manage and monitor AWS Cloud infrastructure.
• Providing DevOps / DevSecOps / CI/CD environments AWS support with containerization, virtualization, automation and scripting.
• API ingest of datasets / data feeds.
• Relational database environments on AWS.
• Implementing multi-region AWS architectures for resiliency.
• Capability to conduct, support and troubleshoot application deployments.
• Troubleshooting and application of analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills working in a team environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• ITIL 4 Foundations
• DevOps/DevSecOps certification of any variety (AWS, Docker DCA, Puppet Pro, etc) – PREFERRED
• Agile type certification of any variety (SAFe, PMI, etc) - PREFERRED
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline.

Target salary range: $125,001 - $135,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
