Description
Job Description: The Closely Spaced Parallel Operations (CSPO) Program has a need for professional services to analyze and study aviation technical and operational issues involving the various surveillance sensors currently in use and those that are planned to be used in the National Airspace System (NAS). The systems to be analyzed will include all surveillance sensors such as radar, Wide Area Multi-lateration (WAM), Virtual Radar, Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B). The analyses will include their usage and implementation into the NAS Automation Systems that are used to provide the air traffic control service. It will also include analysis of Common Automated Radar Terminal System (CARTS), Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS), Microprocessor Enroute Automated Radar Tracking System (MEARTS), HOST, En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM), and Advanced Technologies and Oceanic Procedures System (ATOPS). This will include any advanced operational services that are included within, or dependent upon these systems, such as Final Monitor Aid (FMA), and any future Air Traffic Control Tools, such as those for merging and spacing and Dynamic Approach Tool (DAT). Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of CSPO studies, plans and strategies. Utilize software and data tools as follows:
Applies knowledge in a technical field with proficiency in relevant engineering principles and practices. Implements solutions to difficult problems, generates concepts as evidenced by product or process improvement, uses engineering/scientific tools to integrate requirements and solve technical problems. Utilizes tools, techniques, processes and/or facilities such as state-of-the-art simulation environments, laboratories, data analysis and test facilities. Participates in engineering team activities in a specialized engineering or technology subject area. Contributes to the technical planning process and provides technical guidance
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field and 13 years of experience in performing the above duties or aviation-related experience. Master’s Degree may be waived with 17 years of experience in performing the above duties or aviation-related experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
