Description
Are you interested in joining SAIC to be part of our partnership providing high quality engineering advisory services, system planning, integration, and architecture to our government intelligence agency customer? Then consider joining the members of the Enterprise Systems Engineering and Architecture team as they aid our customer in collaborating, integrating, and standardizing the engineering approach across the customers enterprise.
We have a current requirement for a Chief systems engineer (SE6) to provide support for identifying, coordinating, and resolving the technical and policy challenges to utilizing commercial spaces systems to augment existing Space SIGINT system capacity. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has successfully utilized commercial space assets to augment the US space-based Geospatial-Intelligence capabilities. The National Security Agency (NSA) has been challenged by Department of Defense and the Director of National Intelligence to work, in partnership with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), to develop a plan to make similar use of commercial space resources to augment the US governments SIGINT capabilities.
The selected systems engineer will work collaboratively across the NSA, NRO, and other Intelligence Agencies. Agency Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering and other technical assistance to customer’s requirements development and planning for National SIGINT systems with a focus on how those requirements of might enhance by using commercial space resources.
The systems engineer will work closely with the National Security Agency (NSA), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), national-level customers, and military services to capture and document the requirements for the next generation systems. The effort requires participation in numerous meetings, working groups, and integrated product teams, product reviews, and status meetings to monitor the systems engineering plans, development, and deployment of space and ground processing systems. The systems engineer will be a key member of the team charged with the production of solid documentation of the customers’ requirements and a mapping of where, when and how those requirements will be satisfied by capabilities to be deployed across the extended IC enterprise as the next generation collection and processing systems are fielded. The selected Systems Engineer will directly participate in structured analysis of alternatives (AoA) decision making processes as plans work through the appropriate decision gates. To be successful, the selected individual must be able to communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.
