Description

SAIC is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support operations of the Cloud Management Office (CMO) with observability, IAC, and cloud-native best practices.
The engineer will be part of a larger effort to modernize the DevOps enterprise framework from on-prem to the cloud. You will be responsible for setting up and managing the development environment, configuring tools, and maintaining cloud services, and managing CI/CD pipelines for management of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) baseline so that applications can be developed from within the command. 
This role requires experience working with software development teams, maintaining compliance and security controls, monitoring operations, and improving development processes when needed. You must be highly organized and competent in Agile and DevSecOps principles.  You will be immersed in the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC).  This is a hybrid remote position based in Tampa, FL.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree & 9+ years of experience, OR Masters degree & 7+ years of experience. Years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree. 
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience designing, executing, managing, and supporting IT cloud solutions
  • Strong knowledge and experience of cloud computing concepts, principles, and architecture, particularly with Microsoft Azure services.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Understanding of software development principles and methodologies to collaborate effectively with development teams.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and their integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and practical experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates for managing cloud resources.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, integrating automated security testing and deployment strategies.
  • Strong background of cloud security best practices for cloud-native applications and services in an Azure environment.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions in Azure, such as Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) in Azure, including Entra ID and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Ability to conduct vulnerability assessments, security audits, and penetration testing in an Azure cloud environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, developers, and IT operations, to drive secure and efficient cloud-native solutions.
  • Facilitate the adoption of DevSecOps principles in data engineering processes, such as version control for data pipelines and automated testing of data transformations.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and standards related to cloud security, privacy, and data protection, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • A self-starter, detail oriented, responsible team player able to administer several ongoing technical assignments at any one time. Ability to clearly articulate a position (written or verbal) with sound logic, supporting empirical evidence and impartiality.
