SAIC is seeking a Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Design Engineer with extensive hands-on experience using Autodesk Revit software to create architectural and related discipline 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) models, families, and components. This position supports the NASA DATSS Program in Washington D.C.  

Job Description: 

  • Develop and prepare BIM Models, using Revit software, and CAD drawings, using AutoCAD 2023 software, including but not limited to: presentation drawings, preliminary, space layout and reconfiguration drawings, design intent drawings, limited scope construction drawings, and as-built drawings for reconfiguration projects.
  • Prepare and submit Service Order Drawings for systems furniture and demountable partition space reconfigurations to the furniture vendor for them to prepare their furniture installation drawings.
  • Prepare and submit BIM Model or CAD drawings and documents to the building owner’s architect and engineer to review the proposed space reconfigurations and modify the existing base building systems as required.
  • Update the BIM Model, CAD drawings, and CAFM data base to reflect any personnel and or organizational moves, additions, or subtractions. 
  • Prepare, update, integrate and maintain any facilities related CAD drawings, i.e., mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, security, information technology, and telecommunications drawings, etc. into the BIM Models.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the BIM Model and CAFM Data Standards and Operations Manual.
  • Produce, update, maintain, and archive the BIM Models, CAD drawings, and CAFM data files on electronic media for record purposes, disaster recovery, and off-site storage.
  • Prepare, update, integrate and maintain personnel, organizational, and space inventory data in the CAFM data base and the BIM Models. 
  • Produce drawings, graphs and data reports using the CAFM data base information as required.
  • Update the Organizational Footprint (blocking and stacking) drawings as required or on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare, update, and archive the as-built drawings for the Emergency Preparedness and COOP Operations on a monthly basis.
  • Check and maintain the operations for scanning and printing documents on the OCE ColorWave 500 large document B&W and color printer.  Provide list of supplies to NASA as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience.
  • Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.  

Required Skills: 

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years hands-on knowledge and experience to create, develop, maintain and manage BIM models and CAD drawings using Autodesk AEC Collection 2023 including Revit 2023.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years hands-on knowledge and experience to use, maintain and manage CAFM databases using Archibus Version 26.2 CAFM data base software.

  • Background in one or more of the following disciplines and product types is preferred: commercial or government projects, architecture, or interior design. 

  • Background in one or more of the following disciplines is a plus: mechanical, electrical, or plumbing disciplines, or facilities management.

  • Licensed architect, interior designer, engineer or PMP certification is a plus; but, not a requirement.

  • Proficient at using Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project 2017.

  • Candidate will work as part of a space planning and facilities team interacting with a diverse group of individuals and customers.

  • Work location is a Federal Government Site in Washington, DC. 

Clearance: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
