Description

SAIC is looking for a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist aiding our Government customer in managing a portfolio of programs in a dynamic spacecraft program office. The location is Chantilly, Virginia and requires an active TS/SCI with Poly to start.

The Configuration Management Specialist requires an understanding of CM requirements, terms, and processes.  Specific duties include:

  • Draft and publish Request for Change (RFC) requested by the customer, coordinating with the Enterprise for organizational impacts, and managing the RFC through the complete cycle to approval
  • Interact daily with government customer and contractor subject matter experts (SME) to prepare RFC and obtain appropriate signatures for release
  • Advise Enterprise CM on updated baseline documents ready for posting on Enterprise Web Page
  • Coordinate the review and release of all external RFCs, taking external RFCs to respective management boards if applicable to customer programs
  • Conduct bi-weekly pre-ERB and CCB, prepare and publish minutes, and maintain action items
  • Compile ERB book and brief Directorate-level representatives on RFCs being adjudicated at the Enterprise-level ERB and CCB
  • Coordinate Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) distribution from the developer to include downloading, entry into database, and release for review while maintaining timelines for CDRL approval
  • Review CDRL forms from government and contractor SMEs, coordinating signature of approval with COTR
  • Support Requirement Verification Report (RVR) deliveries and documentation, maintaining RVR database with current status
  • Maintain library of completed RFCs, RFC briefings, CDRLs, and RVRs
  • ·    Answer questions daily from government and contractor team on CM processes and requirements

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5 years relevant experience.
  • 4 years NRO or other System Program Office (SPO) experience.
  • Experience in facilitating Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and Engineering Review Boards (ERB) or equivalent forums.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the requirement to strictly manage spacecraft configuration control, and the processes and procedures needed to ensure mission success.

 Desired Experience: 

  • 5 years CM experience.
  • 5 years or greater NRO SPO experience.
