SAIC is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to provide support to the National Space Test and Training Complex program office in Colorado Springs, CO.
The following represents a general overview of duties and responsibilities:

  • Assess project objectives and propose requirements allocation across the system(s), inform design trades, author and manage systems engineering documentation (eg, technical writing), implement configuration management procedures, and review and assess contractor design solutions to determine if they meet requirements and recommend alternative solutions to the Government Customers and program management teams as necessary
  • Identify space range software development risks and notify the Government Customer and program management team, create assessments of contractor software development, partner with the development contractor to guide software and integration and testing
  • Monitor space range software algorithm development and provide independent assessments, advise Government Customers on procedural and system improvements and efficiencies
  • Create space range software technical requirements, create space range software test plans and procedure, oversee space range software testing, verification, and validation activities

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field with 14+ years of related experience
  • Background in Agile Software Development with experience in the following areas:
    •            Experience with Program Management (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, etc), 
    •            Development (e.g., DevOps, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment, etc)
    •            Architecture (e.g., Docker Containers, Kubernetes, etc)
    •            Infrastructure (e.g., Cloud - Platform One)
  • Must have a current background investigation commensurate with Top Secret security clearance and adjudicated for SCI access (consent to a counter-intelligence polygraph examination)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, SAFe, etc)
  • Experience in the National Security Space and, or the Space Control mission area
  • Experience working in development environment and, or U.S. Government space and or ground system program office

Target salary range: $195,001 - $205,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
