SAIC is seeking a Product Support Specialist to join our energized team to support the Department of Air Force’s (DAF) mission to establish and maintain the Advanced Battle Management System’s (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) through the ABMS Consortium’s Deployable DI (DDI) Product Development Team (PDT). ABMS is the Air Force’s latest effort to create a next-generation command and control (C2) system and is a top modernization priority for the DAF. ABMS will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across the Department of Defense. The broader effort known as the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is focused on rapid integration of capabilities and modernizing the decision-making processes for combat operations.

To accomplish the DAF’s mission, the government in partnership with the ABMS Consortium will develop a deployable digital infrastructure that connects the DAF’s Lead Wing in support of Agile Combat Operations that enables sharing of information across multiple echelons and multi-domains and provide decision superiority to tactical, operational and strategic customers. The DDI PDT is comprised of industry leaders in systems engineering, digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, cyber security, integration & test and operations and sustainment working together in a collaborative environment to delivery critical capabilities to our warfighters.

The Product Support Specialist will work within the DDI Support and Sustainment Services team to perform the following:

  • Provide technical expertise to the support and sustainment services team 
  • Develop training materials, manage a helpdesk, chair a Configuration Control Board, or participate in an operational environment
  • Resolve complex issues in the field through troubleshooting within a support ticket framework, addressing sustainment growth challenges, and implementing planned governance controls.
  • Provide global support, including help desk services, for Government exercises and events wherever and whenever an instance is deployed and utilized.
  • Provide support to aid in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and documenting issues with the DDI prototype
  • Assist in maintaining the operational configuration baseline and be prepared to oversee government and contractor-provided hardware, software licenses, and maintenance
  • Monitor progress through appropriate metrics and management reporting
  • Track and report status, along with relevant metrics, against objectives to identify opportunities improvements Conduct trade studies and technology roadmap development as directed by the Support and Sustainment Services Team Lead

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • DoD Secret clearance: ability to obtain DoD Top Secret SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant STEM discipline with fifteen (15) years of experience with related engineering disciplines, domains, and applications. Master’s degree with twelve (12) years of relevant experience. Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of education.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in SysAdmin roles
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to engage productively with various disciplines, domains, contractors, government entities and other stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Proficient at writing/reviewing/approving technical documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with widely dispersed team members. 
  • Proven ability to build strong, lasting relationships with customers and work effectively to collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in collaboration with or a demonstrated ability to contribute to various domains including: 1) Software and Hardware Development, 2) Systems Engineering, 3) System Integration and Test (SI&T), 4) Configuration Management, 5) Field Support, 6) Support and Sustainment, and 7) Logistics
