Description

SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Field Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Field Engineer is responsible for implementation and optimization of hardware and/or software products and multi-vendor systems at customer sites including oversight and integration support of existing hardware, software, network configurations and new system initiatives for all sites within area of responsibility.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Installation of software maintenance releases or hardware upgrades including the oversight of the installation process and test procedures to diagnose and resolve product performance problems at installation
• Identifies areas requiring product improvement and approves/implements upgrades and hardware or software engineering change orders
• Provides feedback and customer support regarding product performance problems and suggested solutions which may require product exchanges or more complex problem solving

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• 9-years’ experience
• Active Secret Clearance 
• Developing and/or sustaining national security, no-fail mission systems
• Experience with a broad range of system types: custom developed hardware and Software, Commercial-off-the-shelf, and Government-off-the-Shelf
• Deep understanding of Windows and *ix systems
• Supporting large-scale Agile or DevSecOps teams/projects
• Experience in cloud-hosted development, integration, and test capability
• Experience deploying cybersecurity solutions in existing, DoD systems

Desired Qualifications: 

• Experience with Control Display Processor (CDP) Super Dome Server (SDS) on HP-UX, RAID for Microsoft® Windows 2003, Operator’s Graphical User Interface / Virtual Graphics Display Console (VGDC) on Microsoft® Windows XP Professional 2000, Data Processor / Signal Processor (DP/SP), SGI® IRIX, Qualcomm® REX OS,Wind River® VxWorks, Display Control Processor (DCP), Oracle® (Sun) Solaris operating systems
• Experience sustaining PARCS, or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR
• Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise
