As a member of SAIC’s Intergalactic team, you will assist in providing system engineering and technical services in support of the customer’s data architecture efforts. The team provides on-going operations and maintenance, systems engineering of new systems, and performing analysis on existing and future systems. 

SAIC seeks a Systems Engineer to provide SETA support to assist the customer as it expands the current system architecture. The candidate will provide technical expertise, continuity of effort and value-added judgement to advise and assist the customer’s leadership and contract teams. The engineer will develop and maintain strong awareness on on-going IT projects and business unit requirements.

Responsibilities include:

·       Participate in team meetings to reach requirement consensus to capture strategic capabilities for the customers, both internal and external

·       Analyze the customer’s current environment and identify possible system efficiencies

·       Demonstrate the ability to capture users’ needs by performing requirements elicitation directly with stakeholders, drafting and documenting requirements to implement changes to the architectural baselines

·       Assist the customer’s designated governance process related to new requirements

·       Design and document both new systems and enhancements to existing systems.

Qualifications

·       Active TS/SCI with polygraph

·    Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline.

·    Five (5) years or more of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following engineering activities:

o   Understanding data structures, data modeling and software architecture

o   Experience with visualizing and manipulating big datasets, structured and unstructured

o   Understanding of software systems, systems architecture, and big data/data flows

o   Experience with system integration in a large complex environment

o   Experience designing large complex systems
