SAIC is seeking a Special Access Program (SAP) Policy Advisor.  The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced aviator (Fighter/Bomber Pilot, Weapons System Officer, Navigator) that will work to develop, advocate, and integrate Air Combat Command Special Access Program requirements in support of the Air Force Special Access Program Coordination Office (SAF/AAZ). This position will join an existing team of dedicated Subject Matter Experts supporting Air Combat Command’s Advanced Programs Division (ACC A5/8Z). This team of specialized professionals works with Combatant Commanders, Air Staff, program offices, industry, and other organizations to define the systems required to defeat our nation’s adversaries. A5/8Z is responsible for nearly all weapons employed by the United States Air Force and is central to the development of the cutting edge, highly classified technologies required to employ them.  This position is 100% onsite located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.  This position will also require some CONUS / OCONUS travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as ACC A5/8Z's senior technical advisor to SAF/AAZ, supporting program management, and providing technical, policy, and analytical support
  • Provide operational, technical, and analytical assistance to document MAJCOM and Special Access Program Requirements
  • Regularly interface with Air Staff, MAJCOMs, Numbered Air Forces, and other government organizations when performing duties associated with ACC A5/8Z and SAF/AAZ
  • Provide advice and assistance to leadership in the areas of mission needs and requirements analysis, concept of operations, program tradeoff analysis, program roadmap creation including technology insertion, platform integration, and support planning
  • Recommend policy changes and support the communication of policy changes
  • Assist in the drafting, review, and implementation of procedures, policy, and guidance for incorporation into Combat Air Force (CAF) operations

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters degree and twelve (12) years or more experience

REQUIRED CLEARANCE

  • TS/SCI required; Ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph required to maintain employment
  • US citizenship required

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with Special Access Program policies and requirements
  • Strong background in aviation operations
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Solid understanding of electronic warfare principles and their application in highly contested environments
  • Experience with air-to-air and/or air-to-ground weapons
  • Experience in 5th Gen fighters or ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge of their capabilities
  • Previous experience leading an Advanced Programs office in an operational CAF wing
  • Flight test experience
